كُلُّ هَمٍّ وَغَمٍّ سَيَنْجَلِي

You shall find him a helper in difficulties
Every grief and sorrow shall be removed
Through your Wilaya, O Ali, O Ali, O Ali"

🌙 Dua Kumayl

The most famous supplication taught by Hazrat Ali (RA)

اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ الَّتِي وَسِعَتْ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ
"O Allah, I ask You by Your mercy, which encompasses all things..."

About This Dua

Dua Kumayl is one of the most profound and moving supplications in Islamic tradition. It was taught by Hazrat Ali (RA) to his companion Kumayl ibn Ziyad al-Nakha'i. The dua is traditionally recited on Thursday nights and on the 15th of Sha'ban.

The supplication is a masterpiece of spiritual expression — it moves from praising God's mercy and majesty, to confessing one's sins, to pleading for forgiveness and protection from hellfire. Its most famous passage is the heart-rending plea:

"O my Lord! If you condemn me to the fires of Hell, how will I bear being separated from You? And how can my body endure the fire when it has been nourished by the hope of Your mercy?"

🌅 Morning & Evening Remembrance

Daily adhkar from the practice of Hazrat Ali (RA)

Ali's Morning Prayer

"I have awakened, O Allah, seeking protection in Your inviolable guarantee — which cannot be overcome nor opposed — from the evil of every oppressor and every night-visitor."

Ali taught his companions the importance of beginning each morning with remembrance of God, expressing gratitude for a new day, and seeking protection for the day ahead. He advocated for a structured spiritual routine that balanced worship, work, self-reflection, and rest.

📖 The Art of Dua — Ali's Teachings on Prayer

Ali taught that dua is not simply reciting words, but a state of the heart. His guidance on supplication includes:

  • Sincerity — "When you call upon Allah, call with your heart, not just your tongue"
  • Certainty — "Know that Allah does not accept the dua of a distracted heart"
  • Persistence — "Do not become tired of dua, for no one has ever been destroyed by making dua"
  • Gratitude first — Begin by praising God and sending blessings on the Prophet
  • Humility — Approach God as a servant, acknowledging one's faults
  • Best times — The last third of the night, after obligatory prayers, and on Fridays
